Peacock in a Cage

After a visit to the zoo back in 2015, the painting 'Peacock In A Cage' is my interpretation of a beautiful peacock that I saw in the enclosure.

Looking at the colors and patterns of the peacock’s feathers, the objective is to remove the silouhette of the animal (peacock) and focus on the contrast between the circular shapes and straight lines, depicting a relationship between beauty and constraint. Raw in its nature, the painting marks a depature from the perfectly formed lines in the previous Echo series.
