2019
Materials:
wood laminates, 3D printed SLA connectors
Location:
National Design Centre, Singapore
Bo(u)lder is an innovative architectural installation merging organic and computational design techniques. This sculptural piece features a complex woven lattice structure, inspired by geological formations and biological textures. The intricate layering and interlocking elements create a dynamic surface that appears lightweight yet robust.
Crafted from advanced materials, the installation uses precision engineering to balance form and function. Its shape invites exploration, with light filtering through the lattice to cast dramatic shadows, enhancing its visual impact. The tensioned cables and carefully calibrated structure ensure both stability and elegance.
Bo(u)lder symbolises the harmony between natural systems and human ingenuity, blurring the boundaries between sculpture, architecture, and engineering. It serves as a conversation piece, encouraging viewers to reflect on the interplay of design, materiality, and the environment.
