Fractal Projections commemorates SCI-Arc’s 40th anniversary and the achievements of its 4,000 alumni. Created by alumni Evelina Sausina and Eugene Kosgoron, the installation reimagines the cube structure through fragmented, interlocking modules inspired by Eastern European craft. Constructed from Tyvek and reflective film, the surfaces display alumni work, while other faces form a matrix of shifting orientations and textures, adding dimensionality to the piece.
Suspended with fishing wires, the lightweight modules create an interactive experience, allowing the audience to engage with the display. Selected through SCI-Arc’s 40/40 competition, Fractal Projections is a tribute to SCI-Arc’s legacy, blending tradition with innovation in a multi-dimensional installation.
